A indica-type two-line hybrid rice variety. When grown as a late-maturing medium-duration rice in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, its total growth period is 137.5 days, 1.6 days shorter than the control Fengliangyou No. 4. Plant height is 116.7 cm, panicle length 26.3 cm, with 150,000 effective panicles per mu; each panicle bears 209.8 grains, with a seed-setting rate of 85.0% and a 1,000-grain weight of 27.7 g. Resistance: the comprehensive blast disease index over two years was 5.0 and 4.4, with the panicle blast damage rating reaching the highest level of 7; bacterial leaf blight rating is 5; brown planthopper rating is 8. The variety is susceptible to blast, moderately susceptible to bacterial leaf blight, and highly susceptible to brown planthopper. Key grain quality parameters: milled rice yield 62.1%, length-to-width ratio 3.0, chalky grain percentage 18%, degree of chalkiness 5.6%, gel consistency 90 mm, and amylose content 12.9%.
product details
Variety Name: Tianliangyou 3000
Approval Number: National Rice Variety Approval No. 20176033
Breeding Institution: Hunan Aopulon Technology Co., Ltd.
Variety Origin: Tianan S×AoR3000
Characteristics: A indica-type two-line hybrid rice variety. Resistance: the comprehensive blast disease index over two years was 5.0 and 4.4, respectively, with the panicle blast damage reaching the highest level of 7; bacterial leaf blight at level 5; brown planthopper at level 8; susceptible to blast, moderately susceptible to bacterial leaf blight, and highly susceptible to brown planthopper. Key grain quality parameters: milled rice recovery rate 62.1%, length-to-width ratio 3.0, chalky grain rate 18%, degree of chalkiness 5.6%, gel consistency 90 mm, and amylose content 12.9%.
Yield Performance: In 2014, the variety was included in the Green Channel regional trial for the mid-to-late-maturing medium-grain indica rice group in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, achieving an average yield of 630.30 kg per mu, a 4.39% increase over the control variety Fengliangyou No. 4. In the follow-up trial in 2015, the average yield rose to 704.95 kg per mu, representing a 5.24% increase over Fengliangyou No. 4. Over the two-year regional trial period, the average yield was 667.63 kg per mu, 4.8% higher than that of Fengliangyou No. 4. In the 2016 production trial, the average yield was 653.39 kg per mu, a 12.7% increase over Fengliangyou No. 4.
Key cultivation techniques: 1. For mid-season rice cultivation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, sow in mid-to-late April; use 1.0 kg of seed per mu for the main paddy field and 6–7 kg per mu for the nursery bed, with intensified fertilizer and water management to produce robust seedlings. 2. Transplant seedlings at 25–30 days of age, using a planting spacing of 20 cm × 30 cm with two tillers per hill, resulting in approximately 70,000–80,000 basic seedlings per mu. 3. The main paddy field requires a relatively high level of fertility; apply ample organic fertilizer and supplement with appropriate amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Apply 45–50 kg per mu of high-concentration compound fertilizer as a base dressing, followed by a topdressing of 8–10 kg of urea per mu 5–7 days after transplanting to promote tillering. From the jointing stage to the early panicle initiation stage, apply 15 kg of potassium chloride per mu, and based on plant condition, apply an additional 12–15 kg of high-concentration compound fertilizer as panicle fertilizer. 4. Maintain shallow water during transplanting to facilitate establishment, then reduce water depth to encourage root development and tiller formation. When the total number of seedlings per mu reaches 220,000–230,000, drain the field and allow it to dry. During the mid-panicle initiation to full-heading stages, keep a shallow water layer in the field; during the milky ripening and grain-filling stages, maintain moist conditions; and drain the field 6–7 days before maturity. 5. Focus on the prevention and control of rice blast, stem borers, brown planthoppers, sheath blight, and other major pests and diseases.
Review and Approval Opinion: This variety meets the national standards for rice variety approval and has been officially approved. It is suitable for single-season mid-season rice cultivation in the Yangtze River basin of Hubei Province (excluding the Wuling Mountain area), Hunan Province (excluding the Wuling Mountain area), Jiangxi Province, Anhui Province, and Jiangsu Province, as well as in the mid-season rice-growing regions of Zhejiang Province, northern Fujian Province, and southern Henan Province. However, it is not recommended for cultivation in areas where rice blast disease frequently recurs.
